Vijayawada–Singapore Indigo Flight Takes Off from November 15: Minister Ram Mohan Naidu

Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu has announced the launch of a new Indigo Airlines flight service between Vijayawada and Singapore, set to commence operations from November 15, 2025. The flight will operate three times a week—on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, connecting Vijayawada directly to Singapore’s Changi International Airport.

This development marks a major step toward enhancing international air connectivity for Andhra Pradesh. The idea for the service was first discussed during Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu’s visit to Singapore on July 28, 2025, where he assured the Telugu diaspora of improved global access from Andhra Pradesh. Minister Ram Mohan Naidu highlighted that this promise was fulfilled within 100 days, demonstrating the government’s commitment to its “Swarnandhra 2047” vision.

The new route is expected to benefit students, entrepreneurs, business professionals, and tourists from Vijayawada, Guntur, and nearby regions. Analysts believe this service will boost economic activity, education, and tourism while supporting industrial growth in the Sunrise State. Local residents and business groups have expressed their appreciation, calling the move a “transformational step in civil aviation development.”

Minister Ram Mohan Naidu stated that the central government plans to expand international connectivity to more global destinations soon, further strengthening Vijayawada’s role as a gateway for Andhra Pradesh’s global outreach. Indigo Airlines has also planned convenient flight timings to suit passenger needs. Locals extended heartfelt thanks to the Minister and the Union Government for making this long-awaited service a reality.
